All Functional Medicine processes flow through the following four stages.

Gather → Organize → Interpret → Communicate

Introducing...the Intelligent Intake. Smarter by design.

Forget static paper forms that get filed and forgotten. Even electronic intakes lack functionality and are hard to find when you are knee deep in analyzing labs or doing a report of findings.

Say hello to the Intelligent Intake – a seamless electronic experience that allows you to gather and organize a client’s health history, chief complaints and symptom burden into a dynamic, interactive data set.

More than just another electronic intake form, the Intelligent Intake uses branching logic to guide your clients through a seamless experience, ultimately creating an interactive Health Timeline and Chief Complaint Matrix, both of which are searchable, sortable and filterable – depending on how you want to view the data.

To that, the Intelligent Intake adds SySy (pronounced “sissy”). SySy is the  Systems and Symptoms Survey. SySy gathers, organizes and scores your client’s symptom burden, presenting a functional Review of Systems that you can sort by score, physiological priority, or what’s most important to your client. This is critical to an effective and efficient intepretation of lab data, and effective Report of Findings.

In short, the Intelligent Intake digitizes the typical elements of a great intake process, turning it into dynamic and interactive clinical data set that enhances information gathering and clinical decision making.

What’s more, the Intelligent Intake is available wherever and whenever you need it. Especially when you are reviewing lab results and need a quick reminder of the history and symptoms behind the numbers. No more hunting through a paper file or electronic record to find the context you need to interpret labs correctly. Exponis presents both, together.

Meet SaMI - A new breed of Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis.

Functional blood chemistry is perhaps the most critical diagnostic tool in any Integrative or Functional Medicine clinical model. Accurate lab analysis allows us to survey the foundations of our clients’ core physiology and helps us sort out Dysfunction versus Disease.

But we all know that standard lab reports do a poor job of presenting lab data in any meaningful way. And while any functional blood chemistry software can apply a color-coding scheme to show you which markers lie outside Optimal and Lab reference range, that’s about all they can do.

Functional Blood chemistry analysis tells the story your client’s physiology.  A physiology that is hierarchical in nature, where some systems are more fundamental than others, and should be assessed, and addressed, first.

SaMI (Systems and Mechanisms Insights) is based on a systems-and-mechanisms clinical model that reflects the Hierarchy of Physiology. It goes way beyond using lab tests to find nutritional deficiencies, allowing you to focus on the core physiological systems that are more fundamental than others that are built upon them.

Of course, SaMI color codes lab values too, but it also groups related lab markers into functional systems, sorts them by physiological priority and analyzes the data for both functional and diagnostic lab patterns.

The Primary and Secondary Marker Guides explain each lab marker’s role in human function and suggests a list of clinical considerations given where the results fall in relation to Optimal and diagnostic reference ranges. Plus, the Marker Guides are hyperlinked to current scientific literature and other reliable outside sources so that you can stay on the cutting edge.

Rock Your Report of Findings: Client communication - elevated.

When it comes to communicating lab results and recommendations to our clients, we all have different styles. But while we all do the ROF differently, the substance of what we do remains the same.

The Report of Findings module does things better.

First of all, the ROF places your client’s Timeline and Complaints right where you need it so that you can easily refer to them for clinical context, and to related lab fingdins back to your client’s primary goals.

But better than that, the ROF module marries SySy and SaMi, presenting them side by side so that you never see numbers without the context of symptoms, or symptoms without the explanation and insight of numbers.

No more flipping back and forth in a paper chart, or endlessly hinting through the tabs of an EMR to bring to data sets together that should always be side by side.

Secondly, despite our varying communication styles, we all need quality ROF materials that are beautifully designed, scientifically accurate and that doesn’t overwhelm our clients with technical jargon or unnecessary details.

After all, who is going to sit down and read a 72-page functional lab report, when 98% of that is fluff and filler simply meant to impress?

The Report of Findings module helps you maintain clarity and focus so that your clients don’t get distracted by needless information. And oh yeah…it makes you look like a rockstar.

The Program Planner: Plot your course. Track EVERYTHING!

Tired of constantly trying to ground and center yourself in someone’s case before you open the consult door or join that Zoom call? We’ve all been there.

Where are we in this case?

What have we done already?

What was I planning on doing next?

The Program Planner is like your personal Func Med Sherpa, guiding you through the treacherous terrain of diet and lifestyle modifications, as well as diagnostic strategies and nutritional supplementation protocols.

Imagine that at the beginning of a client’s program, you can load a preset Program Path that lays out your intentions and expectations in a flexible framework. This allows you to plan weeks, or months, in advance yet remain flexible enough to change anything at any time.

Or maybe preplanned programs are not your thing. Maybe you like to create programs on the fly and keep it truly personalized. You do you.

Either way, with the Program Planner and a few clicks of a few buttons, you can lay out a 6-8 month program, factor in and track the number of consults to be used, preplan diagnostic tests, and automatically deploy status update requests using the Smart Survey feature.

Imagine logging into a client’s dashboard their plan laid out in front of you, clearly showing what has been done, what you are currently doing, and where you plan to go next.

Say goodbye to feeling lost and coming off as incompetent and uncaring.
